No Limits Dance Project Community Outreach Programs

Precision Contemporary Dance’s “No Limits Dance Project” consists of community outreach programs in which opportunities have been created in partnerships and in support with other cultural organizations to bring the art of dance into all aspects of our community.

Very Special Arts

Throughout the summer of 2005, The No Limits Dance Project under the direction of Ms. Marty Eyster, Artistic Director, worked with the Very Special Arts Organization & Brevard County Parks & Recreation’s Camp Kaleidoscope. Providing special needs children the opportunity to take part in dance classes and perform at the Ponce de Leon Celebration in July.  Precision Contemporary Dance Company Members: Miss Lindsey & Miss Mikael attended and were valuable assistants during the program.  In addition, Miss Julia Pontones worked with the very special arts in providing dance classes in Fort Pierce.

 

Brevard Cultural Alliance’s Youth at Risk Programs

The No Limits Dance Project, sponsored by Brevard Cultural Alliance’s Youth at Risk, include programs at included Crosswinds Youth Services,
Rainwater Center for Girls, and Hacienda Girls Ranch. Past programs have included working with juveniles at the Brevard Juvenile Detention Center and the Space Coast Marine Institute    . Through dance, the participants are able to express their feelings and experiences in a safe environment. Through dance, an opportunity exists to open up new learning experiences and provide the vision for these youth to pursue new possibilities.

 

 

Brevard County Zoo Holiday Programs

Precision Contemporary Dance, Inc. has provided the coordination of the entertainment and set designs for several years at Brevard County Zoo’s major holiday event, Boo At the Zoo . We invite students from area junior and senior high schools to participate in this event providing an opportunity to gain performing experience.

 

 

 

Take Stock in Children Foundation

The No Limits Dance Project in working with “Take Stock in Children Program” through Brevard County School Foundation and  provided two full dance scholarships for high school students for classes at Precision Contemporary Dance for the 2005-2006 dance season. Ms. Marty Eyster, Artistic Director, also serves as Brevard County’s Artist in Residency sponsored by Brevard Cultural Alliance.

 

Gardendale’s Performing Arts Program & McNair Performing Arts School

The No Limits Dance Project supports the performing arts programs at McNair Performing Arts School and Gardendale Elementary Magnet School. The loaning of music, costumes and stage props are available for the school productions and classes. Dance clothes and dance shoes have been donated to these schools. In addition, this year, McNair’s Performing Dance Company has been given the opportunity to perform throughout the community with Precision Contemporary Dance Company. The McNair Company members are also being provided with a Saturday dance class which they take with the Precision Contemporary Dance Company Members. Rehearsal space has also been provided to McNair’s Performing Company.

 

Bridges

The No Limits Dance Project has provided the instruction of recreational dance to the adults at Bridges in Rockledge. This program has been sponsored at times, in part with, Brevard Cultural Alliance. In the summer of 2005, services were donated by Miss Teresa Ravita.

 

Dancing Wheels

The No Limits Dance Project supported The National Tour of Dancing Wheels presented by The King Center in Melbourne, in partnership with Brevard County Public School District and the Very Special Arts of Florida in their October-December 2005 Program.  The project goals were to bridge youth and artist with and without disabilities, evoke inspiration for people with disabilities, encourage team spirit while serving the community though enriching arts experience. A cast call for students with and without disabilities throughout the Brevard School District was made. Intense rehearsals commenced for several weeks concluding with a performance at the King center for the Performing Arts with over 1700 patrons in attendance in addition to 6 outreach assemblies with lecture-performance with over 1400 served. Ms. Marty Eyster, Artistic Director at Precision Contemporary Dance, supported and assisted the Dancing Wheels professional choreographer. Precision Contemporary Dance Company members performed with Dancing Wheels.

Hacienda Girls Ranch

After participating in a dance program, the several girls from the Hacienda Girls Ranch participated in a performance at Merritt Island High School on June 7, 2008.  Ongoing classes are being offered to the girls at Hacienda Girls Ranch to provide an ongoing opportunity for experiencing all forms of dance.
